THEME FOR LITURGICAL YEAR 2023
CULTIVATE FAITHFULNESS

cec.jpg

WHAT IS CEC?

We are men and women of faith gathered from diverse backgrounds seeking an expression of the church that is fully sacramental-liturgical, evangelical and charismatic. We celebrate the living historic forms of the liturgies of the church, and the seven Sacraments. We are also committed to the preaching of the Gospel to fulfill the great commission, believing that through the baptism of the Holy Spirit all believers are empowered to participate in the fullness of ministry. The CEC is governed by bishops in apostolic succession who submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit, and decisions are made in council upon coming to a consensus. The church is administered by the orders of bishops, priests, deacons, and laity.

We have the duty and obligation to proclaim to all the earth the sanctity of human life, the dignity of human life, and respect for human life. We believe that human life begins at conception and ends with natural death. Therefore, we affirm that no government has the right to alter the law of God.

The name of the church is “International Communion of the Charismatic Episcopal Church” or “ICCEC” (commonly called “The Charismatic Episcopal Church”, or “CEC”). On this day, we celebrate the day we were founded by the love of Christ to go and preach the Gospel to the world. Today, CEC churches around the world have a common vision of making visible the void.

Fifth Sunday in Lent

Almighty God, You alone can bring into order the unruly wills and affections of sinners. Grant Your people grace to love what You command and to desire what You promise; that, among the swift and varied changes of the world, our hearts may surely there be fixed where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever. Amen.
