Archbishop Ariel Santos Installed as Primate
October 23, 2025 - the Cathedral of the King in Parañaque, NCR became the site of a historic and joy-filled celebration as Archbishop Ariel Santos was formally installed as the Primate of the Territory of Asia. The sacred rite was presided over by the Very Reverend Patriarch Craig Bates, who led the clergy and faithful in a solemn Mass marked by reverence, unity, and thanksgiving.
The Installation carried the deeply meaningful theme, Power Perfected in Weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9), a reminder that true strength in leadership flows not from human ability, but from God’s grace working through humble hearts. Throughout the liturgy, this theme resonated powerfully, inspiring all present to trust in the sufficiency of Christ in every season of service.
The event drew guests and delegates from across the Philippines and abroad, filling the Cathedral with more than 500 attendees and participants. Bishops, priests, deacons, lay leaders, and faithful from all over the country gathered in celebration and prayer, offering their support and commitment to the newly installed Primate as he takes on the call to shepherd the Church across Asia with faith, courage, and compassion.
Following the solemnity of the Mass, the celebration continued at The Blue Leaf Events Pavilion in McKinley Hill, Taguig, where guests enjoyed a joyous dinner reception. The evening overflowed with heartfelt presentations, inspiring messages, wonderful music, and really good food. It was a time of laughter, gratitude, and deep fellowship—a fitting continuation of the day’s spirit of thanksgiving and unity.
As Archbishop Ariel Santos begins this new season of leadership, the Church offers prayers of blessing and encouragement. May God’s wisdom guide him, may His grace empower him, and may His love sustain him as he leads the Territory of Asia with faithfulness and vision.
May the Lord, whose power is perfected in weakness, continue to shine through his ministry—bringing hope, renewal, and the light of Christ to all.
