Our MISSION

KNOW GOD AND MAKE HIM KNOWN

SFTRH

Straight from our Rector's Heart

A thought from Sunday's Homily:

Apart from the least of Jesus' brothers, the rest will not obtain the fullness of the promise. Understand, though, that the least may not be the literally poor, naked or sick, but the proud and Pharisaical because they are destitute spiritually. They won't get ahead of prostitutes and sinners in the kingdom and won't get justified before tax collectors. But while they may be difficult to love, they too need mercy.

BP. APSANTOS

It is a part of a movement within the universal church called convergence worship. It is a home for those who are seeking a church whose worship is fully charismatic, fully evangelical, and fully sacramental and liturgical. We are a communion of local congregations made up of people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and nations, who are worshiping and serving the Lord Jesus Christ in various ways and ministries.

OUR VISION

The founding vision is to "make visible the Kingdom of God to the nations of the world; to bring the rich sacramental and liturgical life of the early church to searching evangelicals and charismatics; to carry the power of Pentecost to our brothers and sisters in the historic churches; and finally, to provide a home for all Christians who seek a catholic, evangelical, charismatic church and a foundation for their lives and gifts of ministry."

Almighty and merciful God, it is only by Your gift that Your faithful people offer You true and laudable service: Grant that we may run without stumbling to obtain Your heavenly promises; through Jesus Christ our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.   Amen.

“The Goal of A Humble Heart”

October 23, 2016

The real ornament of life which is precious in the sight of God is a meek and humble heart.  Every Christian who has a good understanding of scripture will, to some degree, be humble, for those who approach the Bible with a proud attitude will find it shut like a clam and nothing will be revealed.  Today’s Gospel reading, the Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector, shows us that the real attitude of a person is revealed in the way they pray.  Obviously the Pharisee prayed with arrogance and self-righteousness, while the tax collector prayed simply to God, asking for mercy because he was a sinner.  In Luke 18:14 Jesus says, “I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other (the Pharisee), for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

A SHORT MEMO FROM TODAY'S

DAILY OFFICE SCRIPTURES:

Thursday, October 27

“I Thought There Were Three Bears,

Not Four …”

Revelation 12: 10

“Now the salvation, and the power, and the Kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night.”  One thing we can get from this verse: Accusation and the Kingdom of God are in direct opposition to each other.  Salvation and power and divine authority are more in evidence when the pointing finger is done away with (Isaiah 58: 9), and forbearance is the order of the day!  (Ephesians 4: 2)

MISSION to the city of pines

Fr. Roberto Jorvina had gone up to the north to visit our Baguio Mission Church headed by Dcn. Arnel Nuñez. They had feasting and fellowshipping after the Mass. Continue to uphold our brethren in the north in our prayers.

A community in Pasay City (Area 2) "fathered" by Dcn. Garry Salguero had concluded their study on Ephesians - Armor of God last August 9. Click on the link to view the album.

If you have stories to share that will inspire others and will give honor and glory to the Almighty God, email us at cotk@cathedraloftheking.org We will be more than glad to post them here. Thank you.
