“Do It Now!”
Acts 25: 14b, 17: “Festus laid Paul’s case before the king, saying, ‘There is a certain man left a prisoner by Felix … and so after they had assembled here, I made no delay, but on the next day took my seat on the tribunal, and ordered the man to be brought.” Again today, as in every day this week, the Daily Office lectionary gives us examples of devotion to duty. Even these servants of Caesar, who were hardly role models otherwise, are used by God to teach us passion for service. They knew their roles were important, and refused to procrastinate. Let us who serve our King Jesus learn from these men: Make no delay!
