Psalm 15: 1, 2b, 3: “O Lord, who may abide in Your tent? Who may dwell on Your holy hill? He Who … speaks truth in his heart. He does not slander with his tongue, nor does evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his friend.”

There is no love without truth. Slander and reproach cannot co-exist with love. If we take these things to heart, we will build ourselves up as the Body of Christ. Sadly, often our own tongues become instruments of self-dimutation, instead of the edification and growth of others. A weak Church is the result.
