“Object of Hope”

Matthew 12: 21: In His Name the Gentiles will hope.” This was quite an absurd statement when Isaiah uttered it as prophecy, and it was no more believable in the time of Christ. The Israel of that time was greatly disrespected by the Gentiles, and the feeling was mutual. But the entrance of the wise men from the East, which we celebrate today, stands as a manifestation of the end of that enmity. They proclaim that all will put their hope in the Name of “He Who has been born King of the Jews” (Matthew 2: 2), and it will continue until all nations walk by the light of His star (Revelation 21: 24).
