“The Sacrament of Love”

Mark 14: 23, 24: “And when [Jesus] had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to [His disciples] and they all drank from it. And He said to them, ‘This is My blood of the Covenant, which is poured out for many,‘”

The blood of the Passover was shed unwillingly, but the Cup of the new Covenant (Luke 22: 20) was filled willingly by Jesus with His own blood, showing the full measure of God’s love for His people in a way no provisionary sacrifice ever could. When we see the Sacrament we see Christ in His saving love for all humanity. Behold the Lamb!
