“Eternal Plan”

Hebrews 7: 21b, 24: “The Lord has sworn and will not change His mind, ‘You are a priest forever.’ Jesus, on the other hand, because He continues forever, holds His priesthood permanently.”

It is extremely rare to see God swear; when He does, you know it’s something big. In this case, He swears that His Son Jesus will have an eternal priesthood, ever living to make intercession for the saints. A lot had to happen to bring this eternal plan to fruition: incarnation, virgin birth, a sinless life, crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension. Jesus did it all, so that He could fulfill the Father’s eternal plan … eternally.
