“All-time Champ”

April 12, 2017

Jeremiah 20: 11: “But the Lord is with me like a dread champion; therefore my persecutors will stumble and not prevail.  They will be utterly ashamed, because they have failed.”  The chief priests and elders thought that, with their arrest and conviction of Jesus on this night, followed by His execution the following morning, His Kingdom was finished and their kingdom, which they had set up in place of God’s, was secure. No, because the Lord was with Christ all the way, from the Garden of Gethsemane to Pilate’s hall and beyond.  Almighty God, not Herod, Pilate, or the high priest Caiphas, emerged from the fray as the Dread Champion!
