“Father Says …”

John 15: 15b: “All things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.” Everything Jesus told His disciples, everything the evangelists then included in their Gospels, were things He heard from His Father. Likewise, He left nothing out; as He says here, all things. So why do we keep looking to extra-biblical revelation for guidance? (or, more often, for ear-tickling, 2 Timothy 4: 3) Hold on, do we say that Jesus told us everything we will ever need to know? No, and yes.
