“Heavenly Bulalo”

Isaiah 25: 6: “And the Lord of hosts will prepare a lavish banquet for all peoples on this mountain; a banquet of aged wine, choice pieces with marrow, and refined, aged wine.” Since the fall in the Garden man had been swallowing, partaking of, death. But in another of those wonderful Old Testament prophecies of the resurrection, God promises to be the one to swallow it up, forever (v 8), while He gives man something more life-giving of which to partake: the marrow is that which produces the body’s supply of blood, it’s life source (Leviticus 17: 11, 14). In equating the Eucharist with marrow, He talks about something that is the very core, the essence, even the source, of what is being eaten.
