“For this Purpose”

Luke 4: 42: “I must preach the Kingdom of God to the other cities also, for I was sent for this purpose.” After being cast out of the city and almost getting killed in Nazareth, Jesus had found success in Capernaum, doing some casting out of His own (demons) and healing “every one” (v. 40). Why risk leaving, and ending up with another Nazareth? Because that’s why He came. For God so loved the world, not just Capernaum. Like Jesus, we must never let fear or complacency keep us from our full calling.
