“Too Much Cholesterol?”

Psalm 119: 70: “Their heart is covered with fat, but I delight in Your law.” This is not talking about a medical condition, but a spiritual one. A heart which is hard or cold would be a metaphor for one who is generally insensitive to both God and man. A heart covered with fat, on the other hand, would be lazy, one which had not exercised compassion for a long while. The future of either is bleak, which is why God promises to give new hearts to His people (Ezekiel 36: 26).
