“Profundity in Worship”

Deuteronomy 26: 10: “’And now behold, I have brought the first of the produce of the ground which You, O Lord, have given me.’ And you shall set it down before the Lord your God, and worship before the Lord your God.” This passage (beginning with v. 1) describes an act of profound worship. First the blessings of God are declared, and remembrance is made of His power and mighty acts. Then there is a response of offering. A textbook definition of worship as prescribed by the Lord. Do our self-centered, need-centered versions (or aberrations) of worship match this?
