“Gracious to Treachery?”

Psalm 59: 5; : “And You, O Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to punish all the nations; do not be gracious to any who are treacherous in iniquity.” Come to think of it, why would God be gracious to any nation which commits treacherous iniquity such as colonialism, terrorism, piracy, trafficking in dangerous drugs, or genocide against any race or age group? History shows that, sooner or later, such nations get their due; for as long as their attitude is “God has forgotten … He will not require it” (Psalm 10: 11, 13) they will act without restraint.
