“Unique Ministry”

Matthew 9: 33: “After the demon was cast out, the dumb man spoke; and the multitudes marveled, saying, ‘Nothing like this was ever seen in Israel.’” Nothing like what? Others, and not just the apostles, were casting out demons at this time (Acts 19: 13, for example). But it wasn’t about the exorcisms, it’s how they were done – with authority and power, yet with ultimate compassion. Which made the next statement of the Pharisees all the more foolish – the ruler of the demons don’t do compassion!
