“Seeing on the Right Thing”

Hebrews 12: 2: “Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith.” Sometimes the Church is accused of worshiping the saints of old through today’s holiday. But the focus is not on the saints themselves, except on the fact that they, as mortal flesh like us, were able to stand in faith in the midst of all manner of difficulties. The focus is always, always, on Jesus Himself, He Who causes us to stand and overcome every encumbrance.
