“Dwelling for Life”

Psalm 27: 4: “One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life.” For some people religious life is for the young, to be done before responsibilities like college and work life choke out both opportunity and zeal. For others, church is for the old, who have nothing else to do, and who are beginning to think more about their eternal estate. But David knew a deeper truth: relationship with for God is for every age, every demographic, everybody. As he says here, “all the days of my life,” from womb to tomb, and in Psalm 23, “I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever” (Psalm 23: 6). There are no age restrictions on that!
