“True Rest”
Hebrews 4: 5: “… and again in this passage, ‘They shall not enter My rest.’” Everyone dreams of entering into rest – the end of the work day, the end of the work week, the end of life’s work at retirement. But those things are man’s rest, not God’s rest. While good and necessary, man’s rest will not satisfy like God’s rest. We enter God’s rest when we stop fighting Him and begin to live life His way. To live otherwise is to be constantly exhausted. As Jesus told Paul, “It is hard to kick against the goads.” (Acts 26: 14)
