“See What You Want to See”
Mark 7: 1-2: “And the Pharisees and some of the scribes gathered together around Him when they had come from Jerusalem, and had seen that some of His disciples were eating their bread with impure hands, that is, unwashed.” Many, multitudes even, had just seen Jesus shepherd the scattered sheep. They had seen him feed a big crowd with a boy’s lunch, and heal many as they touched the hem of His cloak. Some had even seen Him walk on water. The Pharisees? They only saw His disciples practice bad hygiene. And it made them angry enough to want to kill Him. Let us learn to see the good in everyone, or else risk falling into the way of the Pharisees.
