“The Rest of the Story”

Matthew 13: 32: “And the one “The Rest of the Story” on whom seed was sown on the good soil, this is the man who hears the word and understands it; who indeed bears fruit, and brings forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty.” So how does the rest of the parable relate to Ascension? Remember that “the sower sows the word” (Mark 4: 14) and the Word is Christ (John 1: 1). As Jesus says in John 12: 24, a grain that falls to the earth and dies bears much fruit - after rising out of the ground and sending its spores into the air. All this is part of the Son of Man being glorified (John 12: 23) - Ascension!
