“Ultimate Fruit”

Romans 8: 23: “And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our body.” Having spent this week reading about fruitfulness, we cap it off with the greatest fruit of all: the redemption of our bodies, i.e., our resurrection. In our resurrected bodies, like Christ’s own glorified body (Philippians 3: 21), we will serve God for eternity, in praise and in ways unimaginable to us in our present state. Our spirits and souls are already eternal, and our glorified bodies, the fruit of the resurrection of the Firstfruit, will one day be so, as well.
