“Mistaken Analysis II”

John 10: 32, 33 “Jesus answered them, ‘I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?’ The Jews answered Him, ‘For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God.” It is possible to get so hung up on some element of our inherited belief system that we miss an obvious truth. Jesus had been doing many works of the Father, but because the Jews had been taught that the Messiah was the son of David rather than the Son of God (Matthew 22: 41-45), they were murderously infuriated when He called God His Father. Thus they missed the coming of the One awaited by both them and their fathers, and instead nailed Him to a cross.
