“Mistaken Analysis: The Return”

John 11: 16: “Thomas therefore, who is called Didymus, said to his fellow disciples, ‘Let us also go, that we may die with Him.’” Thomas sounds very noble here, doesn’t he? But again, he was speaking according to surface appearances. He saw nothing but a dead Lazarus and a looming cross. But this trip was not about death, but life. Lazarus was soon to live, while Christ Himself would rise from the tomb and give life to the world. Thomas looked and foresaw the end when in reality, it was a new beginning.
