“God Owes No Man”

Job 41: 11 “Who has given to Me that I should repay Him? Whatever is under the whole heaven is Mine.” We must beware of the attitude, “I’ve done this for God, now I can expect something in return.” Life with Him is not a trading post, and it is not “You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours.” God is something theologians call immutable; that means He lacks nothing, needs nothing. His interaction with us is driven by love, not need.
