“Proud Judges”

John 8: 6, 9: “And they were saying this, testing Jesus, in order that they might have grounds for accusing Him … And when they heard it they began to go out one by one, beginning with the older ones …” Can you imagine, these men were so proud, they thought they could test and accuse Jesus Christ Himself? In His writing on the ground and challenging their own lack of righteousness Jesus was humbling them, in such a way that the older ones, usually not as proud than the younger, saw it first and left the scene before the others. But eventually no one was left but the ‘sinful’ woman, who in her humility knew her fault, and was able to receive the love of God.
