“The Duty of the Church”

Ephesians 3: 18, 19a: “With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints, and pray on my behalf..” If you want to know the duty of the Church, read Ephesians. This verse is often known as the least obeyed command in the Bible; does your life disprove this statement? As long as everything is going Ok, we neither take the time nor feel the need to pray. But this same Paul did not say without reason to the Thessalonians, “Pray without ceasing.” The Church prays in good times and bad; it is our duty, yes, but deeper, it is our joy and our completion.
