“Gospel for the Masses”

John 3: 17: “For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him.” To hear some preach, Jesus came to ensure that all the sinners, meanies, and ne’er-do-wells end up in hell where they belong. Is this how this verse reads to you? Jesus came for salvation, not judgment, and that salvation is for the whole world, not just your local church on the corner. If you think hell is a foregone conclusion for you, you need to go back to the Gospel – this Gospel.
