“The Virtue of Simplicity”

Psalm 116: 6: “The Lord preserves the simple; I was brought low, and He saved me.” This is another great psalm, showing us the power of the Eucharist. In the context of the Eucharist (vv. 12, 13) we see that here at the Lord’s Table even the simple minded are welcome, and receive the same salvation as the complicatedly brilliant. The Sacrament is the great equalizer; whoever we are, we receive one and the same bread, one and the same cup, one and the same Christ!
