“Epic Fail”

Mark 14: 71: “But Peter began to curse and swear, ‘I do not know this man you are talking about!’” This story is so familiar; let’s not lose the gravity of the situation. Not just denying to know Jesus, but emphasizing the denial with an oath and a curse! But is Peter the only one ever guilty of this? Have we denied a relationship with Jesus before others; not just with words, but with actions or lack of action not befitting the name Disciple of Christ? Do we deny Him with the words “I can’t help you right now” or acts of patent unrighteousness? The answer is yes, we have. And Christ’s response is just the same as it was with Peter: Meet Me. (Mark 16: 7) If He was ready to meet Peter with love after all that, He’s ready to meet you.
