“Pre-approved”

Psalm 42: 2: “My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; when shall I come and appear before God?” The answer to this question actually lies with us. Before Jesus, no one could enter the presence of the king unless he first extended his scepter to the person as a sign of acceptance. That was then, this is now. Christ has now come into God’s royal presence on our behalf; we have been pre-approved, so to speak. So there is no need to wait for a certain feeling or a burst of courage to come into the King’s chambers; as Jesus told the woman of Samaria, there is no need to go around thirsty any longer!
