Mark 15: 43: “Joseph of Arimathea came, a prominent member of the Council, who himself was waiting for the Kingdom of God; and he gathered up courage and went in before Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus.” All the big names were running for their lives, nowhere to be found at this critical hour. After all, if this could be done to Jesus, what lay in store for them? But instead of looking on from a distance or weeping in the dark, the unknown and unheralded Joseph rises up and faces the man who had condemned the Christ Himself. This is devotion that excels any other seen on that black Friday evening. This is the level of devotion that makes a difference.
