He did much evil in the sight of the Lord provoking Him to anger.” You’d be hard-pressed to find a wickeder king of Judah than Manasseh. These eighteen brief verses paint a very ugly picture, and they’re just a summary. But when grace abounds, sin abounds all the more. 2 Chronicles 33: 12-19 tells a fuller version of the story, one where he repents and is forgiven by God. If even he, this most wicked of men, can come to repentance, isn’t there hope for that person you’re thinking about right now – or even yourself?
