“Undeserved Hatred”
Psalm 59: 3, 4: “They have set an ambush for my life; not for my transgression or my sin, O Lord; for no guilt of mine, they run and set themselves against me.” Saul hated David for one reason only: He perceived him as a threat. His hatred drove him to do irrational, inexcusable things for maybe twenty years, and it eventually drove him mad. David, on the other hand, refused to speak against his king in anger or hatred, and grew from strength to strength. Are we getting the point yet?
