Day 22: Spiritual Food in Quarantine

Palm Sunday

Today as we wave our palms, we proclaim Jesus is King. We say Jesus is Lord, not Caesar is lord. That subversion continues. It means that at whatever price, we reject Rome's ways and pledge allegiance to the true King whose kingdom is not of this world, whose citizens, unlike Caesar's, do not violently fight for self-advancement or trample upon the weak and needy, but follow Jesus' example of self-denial and the giving of one's life for the sake of others who may or may not deserve it. We still shout Hosanna (save now) so He can deliver us when we sometimes revert back to the system of the kingdoms of this world. May we reflect our faithful allegiance to Jesus and His kingdom this Holy Week and all our days.
