“The Affliction of Desolation”

Psalm 74: 9, 12: “We do not see our signs; there is no longer any prophet, nor is there any among us who knows how long … Yet God is my King from of old, Who works deeds of deliverance in the midst of the earth.” How long? Sound familiar? Centuries of dreams and hopes, the pride of a nation, had just been abused and obliterated by the Babylonians. The center of their lives was gone. But here’s words of comfort: God was preparing a better habitation for Himself than any temple, He planned to dwell in the hearts of men. Anything lost during this current time of affliction will be replaced with something closer to His Kingdom.
