Day 27: Spiritual Food in Quarantine

"Does God forsake us?" (Psa 22:1:22-26, Lam 3:22-23)
One of the most misunderstood statements of Jesus is a quote from Psalm 22, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?" It's an expression of human misery, not a reflection of divine apathy. The same psalm gives the answer (v. 24), "He has not ignored or belittled the suffering of the needy. He has not turned his back on them, but has listened to their cries for help." At this time of great crisis, the whole world is probably asking the same question. God doesn't always give a detailed explanation because our finite minds cannot fathom everything. But this much we understand: He will never leave us nor forsake us, and His steadfast love never ceases, they are new every morning. God came down from heaven and became man to heal us, suffer with us, suffer for us and ultimately give His life for us. That assurance is our hope.
