Day 30: Spiritual Food in Quarantine

“He is not here ... He is risen ... He is going ahead of you ...”

Mark 16 relates a young man in a white robe saying these words to the three women at the tomb on Easter morning. Jesus is no longer in the place of death, but He did not come back from the dead like Lazarus, who died again. He died once to die no more. He has gone through death and out to the other side. He has conquered death for us all so that it is no longer a blank wall but a door leading to new life. The good news is that He is the first fruits of those who are asleep, the guarantee that all who die will also be raised. “As in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.” He is waiting for us in that place where He is making all things new, where sorrow and pain are no more, neither sighing, but life everlasting.
