“No One-time Thing”

Psalm 114: 3, 8: “The sea looked and fled; the Jordan turned back … God turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a fountain of water.” The experience of Israel was far more than escape from the death angel on the night of the Passover. It included their deliverance at the Red Sea (six weeks after the Passover), deliverance from thirst (several days after that), and the crossing of the Jordan (forty years later). Similarly, the believer’s salvation is no one-dimensional ticket-stamp allowing entry into Heaven. It affects and empowers every aspect of a Christian’s life.
