Day 62: Spiritual Food in Quarantine
By your standard of measure, it will be measured to you.
If you’re like me, you must’ve asked God to forgive your sins but penalize others for theirs. That’s a double standard, the root of which is love of self. Because of it, we’re soft on ourselves but harsh on others. It makes us see the speck in their eye and miss the log in ours. Jesus commands us to treat people the same way we want them to treat us because this is what God’s commandments are all about. Our love for God is reflected in our love for our neighbor, especially those most in need. I’ve heard it said that we really only love God as much as the person we love the least. This is a good time to ponder this.
