DAY 71: Spiritual Food in Quarantine

“He touched her hand and the fever left her; and she got up and served Him.” (Mt 8:15)

Many of us were like Peter’s mother-in-law - afflicted, down, helpless and unable to do anything. Then Jesus touched us, we got healed and our ability to be productive was restored. The first thing she did was serve Him. That’s the best response to Jesus’ raising us up from our low ebb. He doesn’t require (or expect) us to repay Him. He doesn’t need anything from anyone and He doesn’t bless to get something in return. He does desire a response expressing thankfulness because it is for our good. If you have experienced His healing, deliverance or favor, first honor Him out of gratefulness. Use your restored ability and resources. Bless someone. Help the needy. Give to charity. Get involved, serve and give to your church community. Do that before enriching yourself. You will find it’s more profitable and fulfilling. And giving thanks will be a way of life.
