Day 86: Spiritual Food in Quarantine
“Large crowds came with their lame, blind, crippled and mute. They laid them at His feet, and He healed them.” (Mt 15:30)
Why do we no longer witness a lot of miracles like the blind seeing, the deaf hearing, the lame walking or the dead living again? Maybe it’s the wrong question to ask. Jesus said a crooked and perverse generation seeks for miraculous signs, but that’s not the point. The point is not to be amazed with extraordinary spectacles but for a greater wonder to bring us to our knees - that God so loved the world that He gave His only Son who humbled Himself, took on flesh and offered His life for man to deliver him from sickness and death - and cause us to respond. What we should want to see is the miracle of that same love burning in the hearts of those who have received it and prompting them to heal others as well by any caring means, supernatural or otherwise.
