“Mr. Spock’s Favorite Verse”

Romans 8: 31b, 32: “If God is for us, who is against us? He Who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will he not also with Him freely give us all things?” To the naysayers, prophets of gloom, and all others who seem to delight in foretelling acts of destruction upon the earth and mankind from an angry and vengeful God, consider this: Would God give up His own Son to bring to us His love, then admit defeat by throwing it all away? To coin a phrase, “That, Captain, is illogical.” Maybe St. Paul is Spock’s mentor.
