“The Gift that Comes from God”

John 1: 16, 17: “For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace. For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.” God gave us the Law, which showed us His character but imparted no tangible ability. It was good but He wasn’t finished. He then gave us Jesus, the embodiment of His character, His truth, His grace, His fullness, and His glory, which He then passed on to us. In the Law man received a picture; in Christ we received reality—in full! No creed or mantra, however inspiring, can match the reality we have in our Lord.
