"There is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man who fears God and turns away from evil." (Job 2:3)
Two truths I have observed under the sun. One, that generally, what we sow is what we reap. But two, sometimes what we sow another reaps undeservedly; in some cases it is sown to bless (John 4:37), in others to harm, like Satan intended for Job, a man described twice as blameless and upright, fearing God and turning away from evil (Job 1:1, 2:3).
What should we do given these? One, be responsible and work; sow and reap for your own welfare. Two, be generous and sow blessings for another's welfare. Three, trust in God and be slow to complain when something bad and undeserved comes our way. Four, be quick to give thanks when something good and undeserved comes our way. That should bring us joy and contentment.
