December 12, 2024 Daily Dose of Discernment

Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him. Do not be envious of evil men who prosper. (Psalm 37:7)

In this yet to be fully restored world we have tribulation. In it we still experience injustice, sorrow, and suffering. That's the reality of life this side of kingdom come. We are assured, though, that Jesus is with us to the end of the age and that it will pass away.

But that's not all. In place of it will be a new earth where sorrow and pain are no more, neither sighing, but life everlasting. Where peace will reign and all will delight themselves in abundant prosperity. This is the inexorable eatablishment and increase of God's kingdom. Let this help us cope in the present and give us hope for the future.
