“They will not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord.” (Isa 11:9)
"The wolf will dwell with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the young goat, the cow and the bear will graze together, and the nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra." This is what Isaiah dreamed of and prophesied. It gives a picture of the peaceful and harmonious nature of the life of the world to come. Because all will know the Lord and will walk in His ways, there will be no envy, manipulation, exploitation, or violence.
It is not easy to envision such a world with the way things are going at present. But though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the Ruler yet, and is working even now, straightening the crooked, smoothing the rough, righting the wrong, and making all things new. He will faithfully complete this good work until our Eden is restored. Advent reminds us put our faith in Him Who gives us hope that does not disappoint.
