Friday, May 12: “Restored Peace”
Romans 14: 19: “So then we pursue the things that make for peace and the building up of one another.”
Of the many things lost in the fall, one of the hardest to restore is peace. While the cross brings peace between God and Man (Colossians 1: 20) and between man and man (Ephesians 2: 14),that between brothers seems difficult to work out. It requires a death to self and a restored concern for others, where we prefer to build them up rather than to tear them down. Restoration involves compassionate building, not self-centered demolition.
