Friday, November 22: “Applied Pride”

Luke 18: 8b: “However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?”

Jesus resorts to some fine logical reasoning when He says, “If the unrighteous judge finally caves, certainly the righteous God will speedily answer your prayers!” And makes no apology for it. But then, that game-reversing, ugly word ‘however’ creeps in. Why did Jesus add that part? Because, even after applying flawless analytical reasoning, we still have to choose between doubt and faith—and we don’t always choose wisely.
