July 6, 2024 Daily Dose of Discernment

I am sure what we are suffering now cannot compare with the glory that will be shown to us. (Matthew 22:21)

As it is, on the whole, blessings outweigh difficulties as far as human life goes. Undeniably, there is still injustice and suffering, but more and more, humanity is reaping the benefits of the establsihment of Jesus' kingdom on earth. Be that as it may, if Paul were to speak today, he might say we ain't seen nothing yet. Because eye has not seen nor ear heard what God has in store for us in the life of the world to come.

Knowing this, as Peter would ask, what sort of people ought we to be in holy conduct and godliness? Since we are looking for and hastening the coming of a new earth in which righteousness dwells, we should be diligent to live in peace, and to be spotless and blameless as if it's already here.
